Hi Jen, My name is Mandy, and I was initially dx with TM, and then
changed or added, what ever they do,to a dx of MS. I was first diagnosed
in Aug. 1994, I was a 28 year old mom of three, a full time job, wedding
plans for march, great life, all the good stuff !!!! Now it is May 1999,
and I am still a mom of three, got married to a great guy that March,
and "work" at home. I was initially paralyzed from the breast down, and
regained the use of all of my limbs, (some of them are slow, or have a
mind of their own)I do still have bowel and bladder incontinence, and I
have many of the "time to time annoyances" that we read about on the
list. I am currently back in the wheelchair, although I don't view it as
permanent. Your fear of MS is what made me want to reply to you, I have
had to give all of these things some serious thought, and I have decided
that it is all just some fancy words or letters for what the people on
this list live every day. The only thing that has changed is my fear of
the name MS. What I feel now is, they can call it what ever they like, I
call it my life, and I am going to live it and enjoy it on a daily basis,
and what ever name they want to put on what is happening to my body is
fine with me, it is still MY body, this is still MY life, and I am still
going on. AND YOU WILL TOO. I completely understand your fear, and have
felt the same fear myself. I don't have any advice, I only hope that
sharing my experiences with you may in some way help. Please feel free
to contact me any time, and I'm sure that you will find that many people
on this list understand us both more than you think. I too ramble, so
you are in good company if that's the case, don't worry about it. Take
care of yourself, Mandy
