I have had evoked potential tests, spinals taps and a series of other tests
which seem to prove I did NOT have MS but assured the Dr.s of their
diagnosis. They all however said there was a 50% chance, I guess they have
to cover their rears.
I have spasicity and L'Hermittes, some numbness of the hands and feet and
definate leg weakness and tiredness as symptoms on going.
I ahve had three exaserbations if you count the first. Since this last one,
one of the Drs feels certain they should change the dx based solely on the
exaserbations seperated by time. Please tell me; isn't ADEM or TM know to
have reoccurances?
It is not that I am afraid of MS, but it is that I have not seen any medical
tests or proof I have it.
I do NOT want to take the radical drugs (Avonex, Betaserone, Copaxone
spelling?) which I have read, have serious side effects; just to be sure if
it is MS, it doesn't progress. But at the same time I'm scared to death that
IF I do have MS and don't take the drugs I will get significantly worse. I
had also sent my concerns about my insurance coverage being taken away here
in FL if my dx changes, but I did get a few responses on that note. Thank
you all for the advice on that.
Please help me with your advice.
Sincerely, MVM
