My only dismay arises from the possibility that
I might have a debilitating stroke as a consequence.

Sooner or later each of us will be taken out by
something; there are worse possibilities than this.
It **has** caused me to revise my estimate of my
termination downward to ten years hence. When I go
I will have no complaints; God has treated me well.

Medication. An angiogram attempt was thwarted three
times by an extreme vagal response, so we don't
know if surgery is a reasonable option.

Thank you for your concern.

Alton, whose mother was taken by this disorder,
who thinks this was the origin of his tm,
who should not say that and then sign off.

OK. This is the logic.

My TM was caused by a blocked spinal artery, too small
to be seen in the MRI. The arteries are imperfect but
sufficiently healthy that we think the mechanism of
the spinal cord infarction was an embolus, not a
thrombus. An embolus can result from pooling. The day
of the tm, there were three situations present that
can lead to pooling and hence an embolus: vascular
insufficiency in the right leg, the inefficient heart,
and 12 hours behind the wheel on a long trip. I lack
hard data, but this is my best guess. It is only of
importance in that it provides guidance to avoid a
repetition.
