I, too, have water retention problems, but it is
cardiovascular, not TM related. I had vascular
insufficiency in the right leg before TM, and the
inactivity/sedentary life style doesn't help. I
recently learned that I have "congestive heart
failure", meaning that my heart doesn't pump very
well --- the ejection ratio is 15%, well below
what you would expect even at age 64. I am on
hydrochlorothiazide to release the water.
The discovery of the heart problem was a surprise.
They did an echo cardiogram just to rule out a
heart cause of breathing difficulties. Surprise,
they instead observed that part of the heart did
not beat, and the rest was feeble. They believe I
had had a silent heart attack years ago, and I then
attributed the shortness in breath to my severe
asthma (since a baby).
I have one shape problem that I do believe to be
related to TM. The trunk muscles of the lower right
side are flaccid in the area affected by TM. When I
start a sit-up, the left side tightens and the
right doesn't. Otherwise, I am sufficiently over
weight (225 at 6 ft) that the flaccid area is like
the rest of the flab.
