Mandy, I have been off the list for awhile, but I read your email. I'm
glad that you have "come out" about MS. Several years ago I was
diagnosed with breast cancer, a disease that until recently women did
not talk about. I decided that I was going to be as open as possible
about it, so that breast cancer would have a face to go with it. I
feel the same way about myelitis, and now MS. I hope that being open
about the disease will help people understand it. They need to know
that this is not a death sentence, and while we are unsure about what
the future may hold, we are still vital and contributing members of
society. Hang in there - to both you and your husband! Ann
