Good Morning everyone. My name is Anita and I am Mandy's younger sister.
I subscribed to this list in January when my 8 year old daughter was having
back problems and the doctors kept mentioning myelitis. I could not keep up
with all the posts with taking care of Sabryna and the doctors visits, so I
signed off.
Through my mother, Alice, my daughter and I received tremendous support from
this group. I thank the Lord that Sabryna is fine and her problem was nothing
serious.
I subscribed again about a month ago when I began spending time with Mandy
and doing what I could to help her. I am quite the silent person and do more
reading than posting, mainly because I came here to learn. As of yet, I have
had nothing to offer other than fear and confusion.
It never leaves my mind that the Lord spared my daughter and yet has given me
the opportunity to help my sister.
Mandy is a wonderful person, a great mother and a beautiful sister. She
worries alot, can be pretty bossy, sometimes mouthy and plays the role of my
mother rather well! But hey, isn't that what big sister's are for? I wouldn't
have her any other way! She tries very hard to hide her fear and pain so as
not to worry us, but we know better. The connection we have, words don't have
to be said to know what is going on, you feel it in your heart.
I am sick this weekend and have three children: 8yr Sabryna, 6yr Steven and
2yr Cameron. I can only go to the couch, the computer chair or the bathroom.
Anything more than that is next to impossible. Mandy knew the problems I was
having with my older two children and put her own health aside to take care
of mine. Mandy sent her husband to my house to straighten my kids out and
then take them for the weekend. It is almost a half hour drive between Mandy
and I, and yet her and Pete gave their time and love to help me.
What a blessing to have people in our lives who love us enough to help out
and put a foot down (or imbed it somewhere) when we can't.
I moved home to be closer to my family which I have not been around for 9
years. It is so wonderful to know that they needed me as much as I needed
them.
May God Bless You in all that you do and thank you for teaching me about my
sister and how to understand and love her.
In His Love,
Anita Jo
