Hello Mandy,
I have just read your e-mail and don't worry about the length, we all need
to talk at at some length sometimes. I just thought I would drop you a
line regarding driving. I found with TM that I could no longer use my
right foot to drive through testing while I was in hospital. I now drive
only a car with an automatic transmission and with a pedal modification, I
have a left foot accelerator and when I am not driving, I hook it up under
the dash, I also brake with my left foot. In fact I am drivers license is
endorsed as such and I was tested at the time. I have been doing this
since April 1994, in fact I was still in the wheelchair at that time. I
can now walk a little with the aid of two walking canes.
I just thought this may help you with your mobility some. I sure hope you
can get some proper assessment, treatment and therapy to help you in your
plight. It is a debilitating ailment this TM at times, seems to show no
mercy and we are all pioneers is recovery and rebuilding our lives. We
seem to share some side effects, but not always the same, it is very
strange.
Any way Mandy, never feel alone and never alone, try to be very positive,
keep focused on getting the best out of life and remember, we are all with
you all the way.
Kind Regards from Errol, Narangba, Queensland, Australia.
