Gunny remember me, you sent me magnets for my shoes not too long ago. I had
been Dx with Acute Disseminating Encephomyelitis last July. I had total
numbness from the chest down back & front and had an almost complete recovery
after physical therapy. Athletic 38 year old and had this happen literally
overnight - my story is out there in the archives - Michelle V. Maricic.
It seems that there are NOT alot of Dr,s out there that are familiar with TM
and have more experience with MS. So for them to change the Dx helps them
cope with treatment and follow ups as opposed to treating or researching the
treatment for TM.
I am very interested in a Dr who is well educated and has successfully
treated TM
here in the states (FL preferably since that is where I am) this way I can
have my Dr. contact them for information. It is scary out here, these Dr.s
are truly practicing.
I have been out of work since. One day at a time, still have numbness in
arms and legs - alot in my hands. Leg weakness with an electrical sensation
through my torso to my extremities {from the L'Hermittes} which comes and
goes as well.
Surprisingly the steroids have not helped half as much as last time, it
helped so much before. Still on the oral as mentioned but worried about the
leg weakness.
Now I have qualified through my employer for Disability, but the insurance
company continues to request the Dr. fill out the paperwork every other
month.
Should I be applying through the state for Federal? And if so, where do I go?
I think I remember you saying you were successful in your efforts.
When you were referring to disability NOT being able to be taken away were
you talking about employment insurance agencies or government?
Thanks for your help again
it was nice to hear from you.
God Bless
Michelle
