Dear Alan,
Horray!!! And thank you for sharing your trials and
tribulations with us. Please keep me informed of your progress with this
walking thing, I have had TM for 5 years now, and was initially paralysed
from the breast down. I have been walking (although I have not regained all
of the feeling in my feet either), for almost three years. I have
significant pain from spasms, but NOT more significant than being out of
that chair ! I wish you the very very best. There is also another gentleman
on the list who is "finding his feet", When I read about either of you, I
litterally cry. I remember all of the "stuff" that went along with learning
to walk again, maybe more than I thought, and it all came rushing back to me
when I read your post. I am now starting to have great difficulty walking,
my legs seem to either "freeze up" with spasms, or "go limp" at will, and
neither is predictable right now. I will walk until I absolutely can't. I've
been crying a lot lately, nothing more than "tears of frustration", but you
certainly put a smile on my face this morning ! I hope that you will
continue to allow us to "walk with you", how ever often it may be. I for one
was touched, and reminded of the excitement of "finding my feet", If I can
ever be of assistance, please feel free to E-me anytime. And TAKE WONDERFUL
CARE OF YOURSELF. (btw....I am also a "fisherperson", my first trip out,
once out of my chair, was to go fishing for Snook and Redfish near my home.
Could there possibly be anything more relaxing and exciting?!)

Wishing you continued success,

Mandy
