I totally agree with Alton (and Betty). Quit pushing
to get out in the workplace where you will have set
hours and the demands of others which will add to
the stress you already are dealing with with tm. Also
you have not had this long enough to realize that no
matter your age or the state of your health prior to tm,
you will continue to have fatigue, and stress will only
add to the fatigue your body is already dealing with.
It's my opinion that you are just setting yourself up
for more health issues and the loss of whatever in-
surance you might have. Go for the disability and
then establish a business which you can manage in
your own home with the hours that you find you can
tolerate. Being your own boss will serve you in many
ways, i.e. setting your own hours, making the business
as large or as small as you can handle, and increased
ability to have control over the working part of your life.
When you start out, you might look for grants available
to help you get started--especially with the disability of
tm you might find something established for people with
disabilities. With Social Security Disability you can make
a certain amount of money before you will lose any of your
SS check and then you lose $1 for every $2 you make over
your limit. Using the idea of establishing your own business
will also permit you to decide if in the future you want your
business to become full-time, you can gauge whether your
body is ready for that and then get off your disability and
let the business grow. I even think that accounting is one of
the fields that you could make work for you out of your home,
etc., etc.
I've preached long enough! These have just been my 2¢ worth!
