Also, had my hearing after being denied a Handicap placard and was approved,
although I won't get it for 4 - 5 weeks. Am getting one that is good for 1-3
years (hopefully won't need it that long). Still don't know why I was
denied. After the man at the Adjudication Dept gave me the approval, I asked
him and he didn't know why. Said it probably was the way the doctor completed
the application. Unfortunately, my neurologist didn't complete it - the
doctor at the rehab hospital did. I called my neurologist after I got the
denial and he sent in information to aid my case. I know when I get it I'll
feel weird using it as I'm walking pretty well at this point, but still tire
easily. I even feel funny using the Handicap spot at work and everyone there
knows about my illness, but I still use it.
I live in Rhode Island and would still like to get a second opinion on my
diagnosis. I am pleased with my neurologist but would like to be totally
convinced. When I spoke to him about it, he went along with it and even
recommended some neurologists in the area. Does anyone know if there are any
neurologists in the New England area that specialize in TM? I need to stay
within the New England area so that my medical insurance would cover any
visits or services. Or is there somewhere in the TM Association I can find a
physician who specializes in TM?
Well, I've rambled long enough. Hope everyone has a good week!
