Hi,

Ditto to Joellen. I thought of that, too. Larry and I attended the
United Methodist here for a while but I don't think anyone even knows us
there, but every once in a while we call the church to find out the name
of a business to use, such as tree guys or something. We have gotten
great people that way. It might NOT work - but it might.

I sure do identify with you. I took Bill out of a Nursing Home and he
has had an apartment for 5 years. We sure do know exactly what you mean.

There was another church (not Methodist) that we called for help for
him such as just a visit and they were very much NOT understanding -
saying why doesn't he just go into a Nursing Home.

On the other side of the coin, that Nursing Home I worked at - it was
such a fun place that I wouldn't have minded being there myself. I know
that sounds odd, but it was a neat neat place for a while. I have heard
it is now owned by Vencor and has gone down but back then, you couldn't
tell the workers from the residents - everyone was friendly, would share
pizzas, work on computers -play games on resident's computers - it was
very neat. So, if you would have to go to one, I would hope you would
find a good one like that. I would not say this was a place for rich
people, either.

Back to the original thing - Bill has gone through just what you are.
He has considered having a live-in besides me, but he is very scared, I
mean, even when it is aperson he knows, he backs out on letting them live
there.

Bill had some Home Health people who came in for just a short while
each day and
I didn't like about half of them - I thought they buttered him up to get
money but to this day he would not believe that. They would drop hints
to borrow his car till they found out it belonged to a neighbor---I don't
know--I guess you can get some good live-ins and some bad ones.

I would just say ditto to Joellen. We are going through the same
thing now---my Doctor is wanting me to have some arm surgery to redo an
old injury - I think it is completely ridiculous - but Bill would have to
have some type of helper if that happened and I sure don't know what we
would do!!!!

I will watch the posts for ideas, too. And pray for you!!!! I will
be thinking about you and get back later.....

Barb D. in Louisville wishing you the best....
