[TMIC] Steroids vs. relapse

My father-in-law is a new tm patient. He made remarkable progress in
the beginning. We thought this progress was due to his stamina and
good health. However, when the doctors wean him off of steroids, he
is so weak, he is almost completely paralyzed again. We have had two
bouts of apparent relapse when the steroids are discontinued. The
doctors are discussing keeping him on a "low, maintenance dosage" of
steroids. Has anyone else had experience with the long term effects
this might have had on other aspects of your health? Have any of you
been using this method of treatment?
The doctors and therapists seem to guess about what to do. If any of
you are in the New Orleans, LA, area, please email info. as to which
therapists, neurologists, etc. in our area are experienced with tm.
