<< I opened todays paper and was appalled at this letter that was written in
the
speak out section of our paper, this is what it said:
As a store manager at the champlain Center North Mall, I sometimes get there
very early and leave very late and all hours in between.
It upsets and angers me to see all these people parking in the handicapped
parking spaces with their handicapped stickers, just get out of their
automobiles and walk into the mall! They ahave no wheelchairs, no crutches
or even canes. Some of these people have these stickers on their two door
sport cars or trgular mid sized sedans, which could not possibly be altered
to accommodate handicapped people.
Apparently all you have to do to get one of these stickers is go down to the
local whiners and snibblers headquarters and tell them you have an abundance
of nasal hair, and they will issue one for you.
I have no problem walking an extra 30 yards barefoot over broken glass for
somebaody who is truly handicapped. But for the rest of you who are just
abusing a this, shame on you!
I wasnt going to respond but I think that it deserves a response to say the
least.

I don't have a wheelchair or a cane, yet I do have a handicapped sticker. It
is hard for me to walk around for long distances and that is why the doctor
let me get one. I hate it when I pull into a space and everybody looks at me
like, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?/ Just because I am a teenager doesn't mean that I
don't have a handicapped. It kind of makes me upset too.
