I must admit I lifted the phrase 'robot walk' from
another on this list--I thought it was too appropo!!
I walk more that way when I am tired, have gone
too far, etc.
My husband has some stools that his carpenters
use, one of which I confiscated for my gardening.
It's sturdy enough that a carpenter can stand on to
hit the high spots but it's light enough for me to
carry from weed to weed! If I sit on it and pull the
weeds, I keep my spine stretched and can work for
quite a while without losing my legs. It has a flat top
with a oval cut out in the middle to use as a handle, and
a tray near the bottom of the legs (which are solid wood)
to carry my gardening tools. The tray serves to make
this little thing sturdy enough for any weight. It certainly
has made my gardening easier. I'd think that it should be
easily made if you have someone who is handy with a
hammer, et al.
About the shopping cart, I always ask whomever I'm with
if they mind if I use the cart as my crutch--my hubby just
automatically gets it for me, but on occassion will walk off
with it and then return it with this guilty grin on his face!
TM has made a lot of changes in our lives, but we continue
to try to face each challenge with a laugh and go on as best
we can. My hospitalization anniversary is the 29th of this
month--3 years ago, and I continue to make small strides for-
ward, and like you I refuse to stop my gardening as long as
I can get near the weeds I'm growing! :-)
