If you really feel that way, it is probably true. If you
fight back by working hard and believing in progress, you
have a good chance of improvement.

I don't always practice what I preach, but
when I do, I feel better and improve significantly;
when I don't, I inevitably get worse.

This reminds me of a story. An agriculture grad student at
UNH was driving by a farm once and stopped to watch the
farmer and his tractor working. The old geezer stopped when
he swung near the fence, and asked if the youngster needed
anything. The university guy told the geezer about the
wonderful advances in horticulture and about evening courses
the old man could take. The old geezer said, "Son, I don't
farm now half as well as I know how."
