I remember the first time I took the wheel. It was
4 months into tm and we were taking a 30 foot motor
home to our family reunion just so I would get to go.
We had to drive to Tulsa to get the RV and then
drive it and the car back home. The day we went to
rent the RV my hubby let me drive on the turnpike
and the short part of trip that was 2-lane. I did great
until I had to stop. After my stop I asked if he didn't
think I did ok? He said he thought that I would need
to work on my stopping!! (he had flown forward and
only the seat belt kept him away from the windshield!)
Once again we laughed at this disease and what it had
done to us and went on. He did have our son-in-law go
with us to pick up the RV and also when we returned it<g>!
The driving without feeling is strange to others but it just
seemed to come back automatically, I never think about
the fact that I can't feel the pedals.
