I've had a handicapped sticker and/or plates since my onset
in 1981. I opted to get the permanent id but only use it when
nothing else is available. Even today despite the wheelchair I
still use regular parking spots rather than a handicapped spot
just in case someone needs it more than I. It is nice to have the
choice of parking spots so I'd get the permanent tag and simply
use it judiciously.
