What state do you live in? I am in TX. I was never fully disabled from my TM
- I never had to have PT - but my neuro is the one who suggested the parking
permit. She reminded me that conservation of energy is key. Sometimes I
feel fine walking in some where and then feel like crap when it is time to
leave. As a consequence, I had stopped doing things as simple as running to
WalMart for pantyhose. My neuro said I needed the permit - she left it up to
me to choose "permanent" or "temporary." That was in January. I originally
filled out the paperwork rigtht away but was in denial and didn't take it to
her for her signature. I think finally took it to her office and they were
closed. I have an appt. next week and have the paperwork all ready. I am in
TX and from what I understand, they can not deny it with an RX or this
signature from the doc. I plan to use it only when necessary. Of course,
in my case, I never know if I'll need it or not. I had gone a good 2 to 3
months without walking problems until today!
Did the state turn you down? I just can't imagine that. Go get 'um!!LOL -
some may say only your doctor knows what to do - but you are the one who
knows if you need it! I have accepted (sort of) that I need it and intend to
get it next week!!
