Hi Norma,
I was diagnosed with TM way back in 1959, when I was 9 yrs. old. I
had a happy childhood, even after TM struck me. I was paralyzed from the
waist down.......wasn't suppose to walk again.....but I did! All on my own,
I practiced and struggled trying to first stand.....then take some
steps....then finally walk, hanging onto every piece of furniture around me.
I don't remember ever being so cruel or hateful to my caretakers, who were my
Mom and step-dad. Your mom seemed to take all her hurt, which turned into
anger, out on you and your dad.....and for that I am so sorry. You are one
strong lady tho, who endured many years of cruel treatment, yet you have
blossomed into a warm, caring and loving wife and mother. You should be so
proud of yourself!
Thanks for writing to us......it is always such an eye opener to hear
the opposite side of the coin, every once and awhile. Please keep in touch
and let us know how things are with you and your mom.
