Hi,
After eading your story I almost cried. This illness affects all people
differently. I think the point I really wanted to get accross is that your
mother seems to me to suffer from depression and should get some treatment
for this. Her lack of affection shown toward you could be the same as when
"children are always more behaved for strangers and friends than their
parents." I believe the reason for this is unconditional love. I know it
still hurts, but sometimes parents do things that are not right, just as
children do, yet we believe our parents and children will unconditionally
love us and will forgive us easier than strangers or friends. I don't think
this is done purposefully, and it does really hurt. I admire your
steadfastness and strength and of all the work and suffering you endured. I
hope your life becomes more pleasant and as far as I know this illness is not
hereditary.
