Our first Avonex shot went off without a hitch. We went to the clinic where
the nurse made me practice on an orange with a dummy kit, and then we did
the real thing.
Other than the pin prick from the needle, me missus didn't feel a thing,
and the nurse pronounced me properly trained. Tomorrow, Sunday, she gets
her second shot.
Her reaction from the first shot was as expected: sore all over (felt like
run over by a truck), chills, you know, the usual flu-like symstoms. She's
been taking ibuprofens but not as many as the nurse recommended, We're
switching to Tylenol Plus, or whatever it's called, easier on her stomach.
Those symptoms were gone by the second day, but then, she came down with a
cold, she says it's not related to the shot, but I have my doubts. We'll
see what happens after the second shot.
