to indicate to me that in my case the side effects from the meds would be
worse than putting up with the symtoms. Do you have to stomp your feet for
treatment of the lesser symtoms or is it really true that it is better

It really just depends from person to person. In my case, the neuro was
wanting me to try medicines and I was resisting. I did try a few, but
concluded the side effects and potential problems of long term use outweighed
the small benefit I was receiving.
You can tell him you really would like to try something for the lesser
symptoms and make the decision for yourself about whether the side effects are
worth it.
