Leg Edema and Difficulty Swallowing

Hey Everyone,
Have a question. Has anyone had any difficulty with swelling of the lower
extremities. that is swelling as in fluid retention. I started to have this
problem last week. I went to see my doc and he ran tests for kidney failure
and blood clots. Both came back negative. He is going to check one more place,
my heart. I am scheduled to have an echo on Thursday. The swelling begins at
my lower back and heads on down to my feet, which by the way, look like Fred
Flinstone's feet. He did start me on "water pills" and potassium, so the
swelling has come down but it is not gone.

I have had some difficulty swallowing, kind of feels like that feeling you get
when the dentist has his hand and a million instruments in your mouth at one
time. Anyhow, I have had this for a while and the doc is sending me for a
barium swallow to see what's going on.

If anyone has had problems with any of this please share.
