Dear Mandy....What medications is your sister taking ? Are they all
prescribed by the same physician? I would not condemn all medication
but be aware that each person can react differently to a particular
medication. Perhaps a medication revue with her MD, after she or a
family member (if she is not able) educate themselves re side effects,
would get to the problem and offer some solution. For example: I had
so much spasticity that I could not get my legs apart to cath without
help. The dose of oral baclofin I needed to ease my spasticity was 120
mgm per day which left me with one synapse firing randomly and sleeping
15 hrs out of 24.
With the implanting of the baclofin pump I get the benefits of the
baclofin without the sedation. I feel like I have my life back.
PatJ....who is wide awake now.
