Katie,
Anything that has been written by the group is not meant to degrade =
anyone. TM is hard to understand unless one has been there. Please =
accept the fact that jokes amongst TM'ers may sound a little "off-color" =
to those who have never experienced TM.
Yes, there is much unrelated to TM itself, but it is for the mental =
well-being of TM'ers. I have made reference to many time to my =
mentor--my cousin who suffer for 17 years with Hodgkin's Disease. She =
made it because of laughter.
People sometimes interpret differently what others say.
I use this as an example: " I was standing fishing in the stream when =
suddenly a rushing torrent of water came, so I jumped to save my =
ass!--What's my donkey's name?
As for your cousin, his anger and rudeness may have been something he =
could not control because of depression. Depression is a chemical =
imbalance in the brain and spinal cord injuries can contribute to it.
No one in the group is here to cause trouble. We are all here to help =
each other.=20
I have written things that may have sounded rude to some, but I was =
stating the true facts.
Due to which I believe are misunderstandings from both sides, I will =
declare myself the federal mediator(Willie doesn't have time to make =
such appointments) and declare that there be no further responses to =
that which have been written. I have taken on this responsibility as =
there is only one other(I believe) who has "been there, done that" =
longer than I have.
I, heretofore, grant forgiveness to all parties and declare that new =
communications be established for the sake of knowledge to help Katie's =
nephew.
I hereby request Katie to send any questions she has regarding TM and I =
ask(DEMAND!) that all who have knowledge that they feel is beneficial =
respond to such questions in a congenial manner.
Amen
John, FM(Father Myelitis)

However, I can assure you that there were no jabs intended at you or =
anyone else. If the tag line at the end is the issue, then I can also =
assure you that it was meant as an acknowledgement of my recent increase =
of OT (other topic) postings. A backhanded apology to those who don't =
care to see OT postings, if you will. I DO try to be sensitive to =
everyone's feelings.

firmly believe in the benefits of sharing humor, personal thoughts, =
emotions, prayers, whatever, with each other. It helps me know the =
people who are so wonderfully supportive and kind and vice versa. I am =
buoyed by it and find I resent the TM a few degrees less than I =
otherwise would. To that end, I will continue to share the humor and =
love in my life with those who care to share theirs with me.

>That leads me to ask, are you newly diagnosed with TM? It sounds like =
there is a lot of frustration and anger in you. You might not be happy =
with me, but this group IS one of the best places you're going to find =
for information, support, and help with the feelings we've all had to =
deal with. I encourage you to stay on and keep reading for a while =
more.
