Carla - My eyes also bother me sometimes, but I don't know if its the
myelitis or just age. Balance is a bigger problem. Mine is lousy. If
I lean to far in one direction I have a tendency just to fall over.
Last time we saw the neurosurgeon my husband said he was confused about
my balance problem 'cause he thought balance was controlled by the inner
ear. I explained (and the doctor concurred) that I have always thought
that the balance problem was caused by a lack of feedback from my body.
Balance problems can also come from some of the medications. Ann

Carla,
I have had problems with my eyes. it was strange. Things would look dim,
but
would brighten up when I urinated. (I don't know if one could say that
things looked brighter when I was "pissed off"!)
I saw an opthamologist, ear, nose & throat doctor and a
neuro-opthamologist.
my eyes were fine. Finally, I saw a neurologist who found it was related
to
the autonomic nervous system. I now take Clonodine, an antihypertensive,
and
it helps a lot. Once in a while, things look dim, but not to the extent
it
was before.
