Hi Katie,
I just read your note on the mail list. Please, don't sign off this
list. The people on here are great and will give you any assistance
they can. They are ready and willing to answer your questions, if they
have the answers, and the moral support is fantastic. Occasionally
we do tend to get off on other topics but the primary focus is dealing
with and living with Transverse Myelitis.
I do not have TM. My oldest daughter does. She was diagnosed five
years ago and in all that time we could find no one who knew anything
about this condition. A few months ago one of my grand daughters who
is 8 years old was having spinal problems and we were all scared to
death that she was having the same problems her aunt had. I found
this list and asked a blue zillion questions.
My primary use of the computer is for genealogy, so I am on about 30
various mail lists. Not one of them is as helpful and informative as
this one!! These people all have TM or they are a caretaker of some-
one with TM. Several members were diagnosed as children. Several
have children who have TM. Some are, or have been, in the medical
field. There is avery facet of society here. The one over-riding
factor is help for each other and anyone else who asks for it.
No where else on the net did I find the wealth of information about
TM that I found here. These people, including myself, have been where
you are and understand the frustration and fear.
Let us help if we can.
Alice
