Dear Kris,
Thanks for the hug ! By the way, you were not off target in any
respect. I deeply appreciate your concern, and the time you have taken to
respond to some of my babling. I can get pretty verbal when the pain level
starts going up, I also hope I haven't insulted anyone. Relaxation therapy has
proven beneficial to me in trying to keep my stress level manageable. I often
take a few minutes out for some RT when I feel my shoulders start to get
tight. I have learned that my body can get pretty crazy if I don't take the
time to notice my stress level. As for the spasms, not much good except to
keep me from getting too wound up about them and causing other problems. I
still have to say that it is beneficial, because reduced stress usually means
reduced # of spasms. I have some RT techniques I could pass along if there is
an interest.
Be Well,
Mandy

Oh my Mandy,
I wish I could do more than just write this e-mail to you. It seems so
simple, but if I can be of any help by doing so......here I go.
First, let me say that I don't think I have experienced spasms. I'm not sure
what they are like to know for sure. I have had my legs get stiff, but that
is usually when I am cold. When the cold hits me, I get stiff-legged and it
is hard to walk. This also happens when I experience a situation when I am
nervous, wow, being nervous can really make me stiff. When I get that way,
there is really nothing that can help me, except to sit down......or else I'll
trip and fall down. My legs won't bend for "love or money", until I get myself
under control. With TM and before I joined this group, I thought I was a
loonie-toon, since so many things bothered me and no one else.
This is where I want to say......I too am a big chicken....and I have tail
feathers to prove it. :-) With saying that, I also want to you to know I
had acupuncture many years ago. My mom thought it would benefit me. I did
feel stronger after having each treatment. That was 20 years ago too. I
think you should try it, it doesn't hurt at all. Believe me, if it did, I'd
tell you. It's worth the try. Have you ever thought about seeing a
chiropractor? Maybe there is something they could do to help? I don't know,
but it may be worth the try too. I know many people that swear by them, I
know I do. But, my disclaimer is.......I went for pain, tingling and
stiffness in my shoulder, arm down to my fingers. He treated me and it all
went away. So, this may have nothing to do with what you are
experiencing......but you never know what they can do to help?!?
I do want you to know that tomorrow is another day.....a better day
too........believe it. I hope and pray the spasms won't be around. What
about relaxation therapy? I wonder if that would help you? Or yoga? Geez,
can you tell I'm digging deep into my bag if tricks to suggest something to
alleviate your pain? I'm sorry if I'm sounding or suggesting something that
is way off. I just want to help you and don't know how.
You're in my prayers.
Smiles & hugs,
Kris~
p.s. Maybe a great big hug will make you feel a teensy bit better.
(((((((((((((Mandy)))))))))))) there you go, hope it works!!
(Mandy and everyone else, I'm sorry for my ignorance on spasms. I will
apologize now for anything I said that was way off track.)
