Hello Robert,
Poliomyelitis symptoms can be similar to TM symptoms, with the exception of
some additional symptoms that are only TM specific. These symptoms would be
the "girdleing tightness around the waist, the "weird numbness sensation
that
involves parts of the body, lack of balance and the response to steroid
treatment to suppress the immune system.
The three polio viruses are known and easily identified by means of a
lumbar puncture specimen. Absence of a recognizable virus combined with the
usual TM symptoms results in a diagnosis of TM.
There is a remote possibility of cases diagnosed as TM are Poliomyelitis.
Autopsies have shown in certain degenerative diseases, that 25% were
misdiagnosed and were being treated for the wrong disease, of those that
were
examined by autopsy. I may be leaving something out inadvertently.
Comments?
