Dribbles, drabs, diapers, and drugs

I've been out of diapers for a year now, knock on
wood. But I, too, do not consider my tail to be
totally trustworthy. And a ten second warning of
urination does my self confidence no good. Also,
my 2 hour endurance is about equal to the length
of public meetings I have to attend. Consequently,
I wear a leak resistance brief instead of my old
boxer shorts.

HealthDri (TransAqua, Charlotte, NC, 28266-8105)
manufactures briefs for men in three liquid
capacities. Unfortunately, they seem to think that
the fluid capacity should relate to how far
rearward the protection extends. Volume is not my
problem, but I have to buy the heavy capacity
briefs to get coverage all the way back. These are
very good and also very expensive; I think I pay
about $17 each. I believe they have another
product line for women.

The best way to not need them is to wear them.
The best way to learn this is to not wear them.

For the endurance and urgency part of the problem,
I talked to my doctor this week. We talked about
oxybutynin, tolterodine, and the baclofen pump
I'll be getting. He expects the pump to be
helpful, but if I wanted a prescription in the
interim, he would have prescribed what I
unreliably remember as "Lessen?". I chose to wait.
