My husband used to get very bad spasms in his legs, stomach, almost made him
vomit, etc., especially in the mornings as you describe.
For the last few months I have stretched his legs out for at least 1 or 2
minutes whenever he is turned at night (2 or 3 times). This gives him the
spasms to a lesser degree, and disturbs his sleep more than before, but he
is glad because the severity of the spasms is drastically decreased.
Just a thought, worked for him.
Wendy.
