Dear Alton,
I thank you for your concern and response. I call it "stick man
spasms". If I stay in the same position for more than 5 or 10 minutes nothing
wants to move and it HURTS. I have to keep moving or everything wants to stop
moving. When I do try to keep moving, it causes more spasms. I went through
medication therapy as a pain management option and reacted to the meds so
strongly that the cure seemed to be worse than the problem. I have a very low
tollerance for meds. They either make me so loopy and groggy that I can't
function, or put me to sleep, which renders me useless. I HAVE tried, PT, Med
therapy, massage, meditation and relaxation techniques, I am not a candidate for
surgical intervention right now because I still have a high risk factor for
swelling. I am currently gathering information (very slowly), on acupuncture
as it relates to pain management. If you have any new ideas or suggestions, I
would greatly appreciate them. I am open to new ideas, nothing I've tried up
to this point will even give temporary relief on "stick man " days. I find the
frustration as hard to deal with as the pain sometimes worse. Just having a
bad day and not liking it ! Not unlike the rest of you I suppose.
Thanks again, Mandy
