When I was paralyzed, I was given PeriColace. I was also given it when I was
taking percocet when I got my pump.
It used to be a prescription item years ago, but it is now Over-The-Counter.
it is a mild laxative(casanthranol) and a stool softener(docusate sodium).
Casanthrol is obtained from Cascara Sagrada which Doc mentioned.

P.S. A "stools softener' is not something that makes the toilet seat softer.
