I was diagnosed yesterday with Fibromyalgia. And guess who I'm going to for
advice.
Dear Kris:
Now how are you coping so well?
My husband (not downing the male species) also isn't "solving my problems" but
at times makes them worse! He is the most fantastic man in the world
BUT.......I need support from SOMEONE WHO CAN BE SUPPORTIVE and I need to just
leave that part out of my recovery (which with FM I don't think there is any
recovery) as far as he goes and maybe we can get along better. I did have a
"breakthrough" the other night. I told him I just needed to talk about my
"condition" of not being better after a head on car wreck in Oct 97. I let
out all my feelings about Drs., and everything you can think of (this was
before I found out I have Fibromyalgia=FM)! He just listened and I didn't
feel like he had to "solve anything" or "respond," I just needed a listener,
no an advice giver (especially my husband for that)!
Anyway, I now feel like God wants me to work on that part too. He wants me to
"burden my husband [because he is who he is) with only the things he needs to
be burdened by and get help from friends, family and other areas of support
with the things my husband isn't "real good at dealing with." NOW IF I CAN
PRACTICE WHAT I PREACH! LOL
Sincerely,
Renae
