Marca L. Sipski, MD, of Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation, was recently
awarded a three-year grant from the National Institutes of Health to conduct a
study of the physiologic effects of sexual functioning in SCI individuals. The
goal is to learn how SCI affects female sexual function and to test new
methods to improve sexual satisfaction. We are seeking 50 women with SCI, at
or below the level of T-6, who are interested in participating in this
research project. We are particularly interested in women with incomplete
level of injury, age 18-45 years, with a regular menstrual cycle. An
honorarium of $500.00 plus travel expenses will be paid to those who complete
the study.
