Well Hi Mykella I was wondering what had happened to you. I am so glad
you have a place that you can see some results. GREAT that you will be
taking driving lessons. I just hope they can help the gastro tract. It
is bad enough to have tm, but adding vomiting and all the rest is not
fair but then TM Is not fair!!!

I am glad you are back and I am sure you will be flooded with E-mail
tomorrow.

Love , Ken

Dear all,

I have not read all of your emails yet; I wanted to get this update
out. Things are actually looking up. I was actually transferred from
the Miami hosp. the same day as my rehab.consult. A fact that surprised
us all...and left me unable to tell you all. I am now in a rehab
hospital in Ft. Lauderdale. It has a very good reputation. I was
transferred here Wednesday. My computer arrived Saturday, but I had to
wait for it to be inspected before I could plug it in!
As far as my stomach and pancreas problems go, no change. Yes, I do
have gastroparesis, as many of you have suggested. At least at this
hospital they are dealing with the pancreas again. I am waiting for my
consult with a GI dr here (he is supposed to be here tonight). Tonight
they are going to try to feed me 4pm-7am so that I can go to pt w/o the
pole. I am still not tolerating the feedings (nausea, vomitting, pain,
diarrhea), though.
However, it feels good to have pt. I get 2 hours of pt and one hour of
o.t. a day. My physical therapist seems to be very good; very
aggressive, but also very sweet (which helps). She used electrical
stimulation on my leg today, which was new for me. Hurt a lot, but
that's fine with me if it works. I am very excited because I am going
to enter the driving program here. My first session will be 3/9. I
also have "Recreational therapy" They have me in a group of patients
with whom I have nothing in common...I need to work on that.

My roommate actually also has TM! It has affected her right leg. We
haven't talked much yet; I have made overtures, but she doesn't seem
ready to talk yet. I am going to offer to let her use my comp. so she
can hook up with you all, if she'd like.

The nurses here are nice, for the most part. That is a big change from
Miami - boy, am I happy to be out of there!

Well, I am anxious to get to reading all of those emails, so I will go
now. I am so sorry for leaving you all "in the lurch" so long. I
thought about you all the time and am looking forward to being back in
touch

love, Mykella
