Dear Friends,
I don't know where to begin telling you what has happened. Our doctor
had told us that Bill needed a pace-maker and it would cost ---well
a bunch of money. We didn't have it. We could probably come up with
half of it. But the machinery had to be paid for in advance. We had
resigned ourselves to the fact that Bill was going to come home to die.

Last night one of his two doctors came in and told him that the company
that manufactures the machinery is giving it to him. In addition to
that the two doctors and the surgeon are not going to charge him for
their services and the hospital is not going to charge for the use of
the operating room and all the personnel involved. !!! To add to this
they are talking with the company that manufactures the medication he
will have to take after the implant and it looks like they are going
to provide all the medication free of charge.

We are all still a little 'shell-shocked'. It's hard to believe that
this is really going to happen. His surgery will be done sometime the
first of the week. I'll let you know as soon as I find out. There is
a certain amount of risk involved with the surgery but we're looking at
a certainty if he doesn't have it.

Our entire family joins me in telling you all that your prayers are
appreciatd more than you can ever know. In my wildest dreams or most
fervent prayers I wouldn't have expected anything like this to actually
happen.

So, my sincerest thanks to each and every one of you. God is in his
Heaven and all's right with my world.
Alice
