BILL'S TEST RESULTS

Hi,
Well, some preliminary results are in. Bill's heart was definitely in-
volved/affected by what happened yesterday. There are significant
changes in the EKG. Our doctor is pulling all the records since his
last hospitalization and comparing test results to rule out any addi-
tional problem areas. Right now the plan is to do an angiogram or
angioplasty tomorrow. This is the test that inserts a scope in the
groin artery and goes into the heart to assess damage. If there is
nothing apparent to impede the implant they will then implant a
pace maker to assist his heart. The pace maker surgery will probably
be done as early as Saturday or as late as Monday.
Right now it's just wait and see what shows up tomorrow.
The big question now is whether or not he is strong enough to with-
stand the testing procedure. If that goes ok, surgery is very risky
but necessary. The only surgical procedure that would benefit him is
a heart transplant. We've known that all along. He is not a good
candidate for transplant because of other health issues. So basically
this is our last and best hope.
I appreciate all your messages and prayers more than you can know.
Alice
