In reading the messages here...I see that many of you have had much more
severe symptoms at the onset of TM than I did. When it started for
me...it was strange sensations in my left leg, also some bowel problems,
then my left leg went numb one night, and numbness/pain/weakness has
persisted in both legs, pain mainly in the feet.

It seems like most here had a DRASTIC situation, where there was
paralysis, severe bladder or bowel dysfunction, etc.

Am I wrong about this? I'm wondering now if my doctors diagnosis is
correct. I remember my neurologist at Yale saying that my
demyelination was 'negligible', (easy to say, but sure causes me plenty
of pain).

He did say that many cases of TM he saw, (and he said he saw about one
new case per month),were much worse than mine. I believe it was the
'evoked potentials' test I had that showed a slowdown in nerve
transmission, but he never told me exactly where the demyelination was.
