Hi Carolyn,
I may be talking thru my hat. Just an idea tho. I once had a terrible pain
and a tingling in my shoulder, it progressed to my elbow and then my fingers
went numb, they tingled too. It was weird. I'm not the "run-to-my-doctor-
for-everything" type, in fact I didn't have a doctor to see about it anyway.
(I doubt my Ob-Gyn could've helped) A lady at work told me about a
chiropracter and suggested that I see one. I thought about it....made a few
calls......and finally went. I wouldn't let him take an x-ray, I thought I
may be pregnant. So he did a few tests manually. He felt I had a pinched
nerve under my clavicle. He ended up doing a strange therapy (I thought it
was strange) he had me sitting in a chair, hooked me up to some electrodes
that when he turned on the machine......my fingers moved all on their own.
Sorta like Frankenstein's monster. Anyway....after a few of those therapies,
the tingling and numbness slowly went away....just like it came. From my
fingers....to my elbow.....then my shoulder. I was pain free! I could lift
my arm again to brush my hair, hang up my clothes, all the daily stuff I took
for granted.
This whole story I told you was my way of saying to checkout some
chiropractors, see if they have any non-invasive procedures that may help you.
It's worth a try. Worked for me.....my other option was surgery from the
doctor I ended up seeing. Geez!!! Big difference.
Hope you find something other than surgery.
Smiles,
Kris~
