Thank you all for your responses re my friends' son (Jacob). I will
take all of your advice into account when I sart visiting him again. I
have been offline the last two days as I have been heavilly medicated.
Since my upper g.i. said my stomach was emptying (at least with the
litttle we put in it duting the test), the drs. have clamped my stomach
drainage tube and they are instead medicating me for the pain and nausea
resulting. I do not at all like this plan of action, but I do not know
what to do about it. I have tried talking to the docs and it is like
talking to a brick wall. So, they have me on Demerol q 4 hrs and Zofran
bid. This combination leaves me feeling quite "disconnected" and pertty
much unable to concentrate.
It seems to me that we should be trying to clamp off the stomach in
stages. After all, it has been used to artificial drainage now for 5
months! They tell me to eat, but I am so nauseated and feel so very
full, it is not possible (in my eyes...in their eyes it is).
I do not know what to do. I guess I am just venting, so forgive me if
it seems like whining :-)
