I had the same type of situation as Don, when I was on prednisone at the
re-hab hospital. I felt like I was on top of the world. I would go in
and pump weights like I thought I was Arnold Schwartzeneger, until the
therapist got worried I would over do it. They (the steroids) also made
me sweat buckets, and keep me up at night, plus my appetite was immense.
I ate enough for two or three people and wanted more! One problem I did
have with the IV's was that the steroids were hard on my veins. It was
rare that I got more than one dose in a vein before it would blow up the
vein and they would have to start a new IV. It has left me with some
hard lumps on my arms where veins used to be, and now it is hard for the
nurses to even find a vein to start an IV, as I recently found out at
the hospital when they needed to start IV's for antibiotic drip for my
UTI.
