Hello everyone. My name is Vince, and I have been reading the list for a
while. I am 41, and was diagnosed with TM Level T7 Incomplete in
September 1984. I was camping with freinds and awoke with stiff legs and
backpain. Recently discharged from the Army, I soon found myself in the
VA system, eventually transfered to Wood Clinic in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Seems like there was little information back then. I had never heard of
TM. My hospital stay lasted 3 1/2 months. My left side responded well to
therapy, but my right side did not progress as well. I left the hospital
in crutches, and today I get around fairly well with a cane.

I've been fairly lucky throughout the past 15 years. An occasional UTI,
but last year I was admitted to the hospital in septic shock from a kidney
infection. I almost died, but recovered. That episode allowed me to
review my life with TM, and eventually led my to this list.

I don't have any words of wisdom. I certainly relate to "good & bad
days". My bad moments seem to be directly related to stress. I don't
fear relapse. I went on a 33-day camping road trip this past
August/September and felt a freedom I hadn''t experienced in quite some
time.

Take Care...I'll be reading...
