Unser Jr.'s Daughter Has Rare Disease

 Two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser Jr.'s daughter is hospitalized with a rare disease that attacks the spinal cord.
Cody Unser, 12, is paralyzed from the waist down, but her mother, Shelly, said Tuesday that she has movement in her hands and arms.
She was playing basketball on Friday when she complained of headaches, and pain and numbness in her legs.
She has been diagnosed with transverse myelitis, which doctors said can be debilitating, but there is a chance for a full recovery, KOAT-TV reported Tuesday.
The girl's mother told KOAT that Cody was in good spirits and very upbeat about her outlook.
Al Unser Jr. is a member of a prominent Albuquerque racing family and a veteran CART driver for Team Penske. He won the Indy 500 in 1992 and 1994, and has two CART championships. Unser Jr. is the son of Al Unser and the nephew of Bobby Unser.
