Excuse me for jumping right back in , but I have a question. I started
having to self-cath in August (I probably should have long before, but
was in denial!). However, since I have been hospitalized I have had a
foley catheter and I am wondering why the self-cath is preferred.
Obviously, it is a lot easier to get around without a foley bag, but I
wonder if self-cath is not more likely to cause UTIs. (seems like
insertion 3x day is more likely to cause it than once every 2 weeks).
Does anybody have any ideas? When I do eventually get out of here, or
if I am accepted at rehab, I will be given the choice between the two
Thanks,
Mykella
