Warren - Thanks for writing in! Because of the nature of support
groups, alot of the people who write in are dealing with scarey changes,
fears, etc. It is good to have someone talk about successfull recovery,
especially for the new people to the list. They need to know that there
can be recovery. Please keep talking to us - Ann

Subject: my story

I would like to chat to people who have T.M

It seems i am one of the lucky ones who has got back to normal (i
think).
In November of 1997 I contracted Transverse Myalitas
Upon admittance to my local hospital I was found to have chronic
pneumonia I
was given possibly 24 hours to live.At first nobody was sure why my
lower body
was not working. The M.R.I showed nothing and not until I had a lumber
puncture
did the Docters realise the problem. The Doctors and staff managed to
settle
the pneumonia and after 2 weeks decided to move me to the rehab
unit.Then with
the help of my physiotherapists got on with the job of learning to walk
again.
The stongest memory I have is the consultant telling me only time can
help me
now.
My story can go on a little so I will finish by saying I can now walk
allmost
properly and I returned to work fulltime allmost a year ago today .HA
what do
they know.
Thanks for reading this
warren
