I would like to chat to people who have T.M
It seems i am one of the lucky ones who has got back to normal (i think).
In November of 1997 I contracted Transverse Myalitas
Upon admittance to my local hospital I was found to have chronic pneumonia I
was given possibly 24 hours to live.At first nobody was sure why my lower body
was not working. The M.R.I showed nothing and not until I had a lumber puncture
did the Docters realise the problem. The Doctors and staff managed to settle
the pneumonia and after 2 weeks decided to move me to the rehab unit. Then with
the help of my physiotherapists got on with the job of learning to walk
again.
The stongest memory I have is the consultant telling me only time can help me
now.
My story can go on a little so I will finish by saying I can now walk allmost
properly and I returned to work fulltime allmost a year ago today .HA what do
they know.
Thanks for reading this
