Roberta - I am so sorry that yur friend got this disease. It is very rare.
However, there are alot of us on this list who have the disease and
different amounts of recovery. My attack was at C1 and C2, and my paralysis
was not as severe. This was four years ago. I can walk, though not for
long distances. I work full time.

This is a very scarey time for all of you. The recovery can be very slow,
so your friend will need to be patient. Physical Therapy can help. There
are members on the list from Europe. I hope they can give you advice on
where to get help ..... Ann
