Your Mom sounds just like Bill. He won't let me put his photo in the
archives - a lot of times he worries that I'm putting his name on the
internet - he watches tv all day - he sounds a lot like your Mom. There
are other times he does fine. I can sure sympathyze with you or
empathyze ---or know where you are coming from. I see here some other
people gave pretty good advice already. When I take Bill to the VA,
sometimes he won't let me go up to the counter and ask anything and he
just takes whatever treatment they dole out over there. I don't
know........I just know how you feel. Right now I'm having a tough time
explaining to his family that I can't change a whole lot in his treatment
unless he wants me to do it - sometimes I can go against what he says,
but other times I can't. I mean, most of the time he won't give me
permission to call anyone or change anything.
Sometimes I know exactly what to do - who to call - and other
times, like you, I'm not sure what action to even take......sometimes I
feel like his relatives are condemning me or blaming me for not hauling
him to the VA for certain things - but what can I do?
From: Barb D. in Louisville who didn't help much but can understand.
Keep us posted okay? I liked John's idea.
